gosplan believes in architecture as a mass medium. As such, architecture is a production of forms, a tale about space. Like every medium, architecture is not based on the message occasionally transmitted (environmental sustainability, functional program, authorial code, etc.) but on establishing new connections: links between forms, concepts, people. An architecture aware of its role as a medium, knows how to evaluate its impact over the world, because at the ends of a medium there are always two realities.

gosplan was established in Genova in 2010 by Federico Bellegoni, Nicola Lunardi, Veronica Rusca and Lorenzo Trompetto.

Federico Bellegoni (La Spezia, 1982) graduated at Genoa School of Architecture discussing a thesis concerning the relationship between inner city and new settlements in the specific case of the transformation of the former hospital of the city of Sarzana next to the Florentine’s fortified walls. Title of the dissertation was “UNMONUMENTAL. The victory of the Inner city”.

Nicola Lunardi (La Spezia, 1982) graduated at Genoa School of Architecture discussing a thesis about the relation between architecture, media and mass society. His thesis won the second prize for “Young Critic” competition in 2009. He wrote articles for digital magazines and hardcopy books. Since 2008 to 2010 he worked at Sp10 office in Genoa. Since 2014 he is adjunct professor at Genoa School of Architecture.

Veronica Rusca (Genoa, 1981) studied at Genoa School of Architecture. In 2006 she took part to a team of students that represented Genoa University at the X Venice Biennale. She graduated in 2008. The topic of her dissertation was: “YOU ARE HERE. Critical analysis of the contemporary city” and it investigated the role of architecture in consumer society. This thesis won the Archiprix International “Hunter Douglas Award” as world’s best graduation projects in 2011. She gave lectures at Genoa Polytechnic University and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
